Use of softener in Textile finishing

Finishing and softener in Textile :

In textile there are many department  like Knitting, dyeing, finishing  and  AOP. Here we are going to discuss about  finishing and softener . Finishing  is the process  that enhance  fabrics general properties like brightness , softness, hand-feel  and other quality  of fabric .

Softener : Softener is one kind of finishing agent . After dyeing which chemical  we use to develop or improve  overall quality of fabric that called as softener . There are seven types of softener in textile . We use below mentioned softener .

1.       Non Ionic softener

2.       Anionic softener

3.       Cationic softener

4.       Amphoteric softener

5.       Reactive softener

6.       Polyethylene based softener

7.       Silicon based softener

The individual softener have different characteristics and their uses are different  from each other . Every softener have its specific chemical  structure . They are named as per their characteristics . Some makes fabric surface more smooth , some makes fabric bulky , some are harmful  for human skin , some are bad for human skin . Some softener have good wrinkle recovery , tearing strength , dimensional stability and increase other quality . Some softener are use for cellulose fiber and some are for chemical fiber .
