Yarn Count calculation Indirect system
Yarn Count calculation Indirect system:
The count is known as the yarn numbering system. There is various definition for the count. Somebody says that the textile fiber is how much coarser or how much finer that represented in number is called count. Some are told like this: Number of hanks in one pound. There are two types of count-determining systems. One is indirect and another is a direct system.
Count Calculation is very necessary for textile industries. There are two systems of count calculation. They are direct and indirect systems. In this blog, I will discuss the Indirect system of count calculation.
কিভাবে সুতার কাউন্ট নির্ণয় করা হয়:
Count=(L/L")/(W/W")
Here L=samples length in yards
L"= Unit 840 (yds)
W=weight we got from the sample in gram W"= weight unit in gram.
Suppose that, Length of the sample is L= 120 yds
Unit of length is L"= 840 (always)
Sample yarn weight is W=2.4 gram
Unit of yarn weight is W"=453.56 gram
Then we do the calculation and get yarn count =(120÷840)/(2.4÷453.56)
=26.99
So we can say this is 27s/1 yarn.
Yarn count is the major point for any fabric programming. If you want to do a knit program you must know the actual count of the yarn. Otherwise, it will effect gsm. Some time due to thicker count than actual gsm come high and due to finer count than actual gsm come low. So to do successfull program there must be select the actual yarn count.
To find out acual yarn for a program it should be tested in color and white . This is known as yarn test. If we do yarn test we can know about the yarn quality that affects the fabric quality. In dyed fabrics fabrics we generally find out that there is any contamination on white or not . After that for color fabric we find that is there any dead cotton or not, black specks, white specks, patta, thick and thin etc.
