How to Calculate resultant count part-1

How to Calculate resultant count:
First of all, we should know why we need a resultant count. A resultant count is needed when we want to make fabric with twisted yarn. Sometimes we make plated jerseys then also we need a resultant count. Suppose that we will make a plated jersey of 200 gsm.

Then we need 32/1 cotton and 75 D polyester. first, we need to transfer polyester denier to count.

75 D polyester = 5315÷75 =71 cotton count

 Now 32/1 & 75 D=71/1 yarn resultant count will be =(32x71)÷(32+71)
=2272÷103
=22.05
=22/1

 This is the resultant count.

The resultant count is a very important calculation in textile knitting and twisting factory. When we need to fold two or three yarns altogether then we need to know this calculation to find out the resultant count. The resultant count will be thicker than the single yarn count.

The above formula is for the indirect count calculation system. But for the direct system, we need to calculate in different ways. For a direct system, we need to calculate as like as below.

If there are two polyester deniers R1 and R2 and if the resultant count is R, So we can calculate Resultant count= R1+R2

For example: If there are two deniers 75D and 50D, we need to find out the resultant count.
Here resultant count will be 75D+50D =125D.

We also can follow as below :
 To calculate resultant count we need to follow below formula :

 Resultant count=(count1 x count2)÷(count1+count2)

Suppose that ,

Count1=60/1
 count2=30/1

So resultant count=(60x30)÷(60+30)
 =1800÷90
 =20

So Resultant count is 20/1.

Resultant count effect: Actually when we use two different count for twist or same count for twist then we need result count. When we calculate for two different count then it is called as resultant count. When we calculate for same count and composition then it is called as average count. If we use same count then its effect  will be good and even . When we twisted or folded two different types of count and diffrernt types of yarn then we will not get even fabric shade and quality. Suppose that we will fold  30/1 cotton combed yarn two ply then it will look even and if we fold or twist two yarn like 30/1 combed cotton and 75D polyester then the fabric effect will not good like previous.

Hope that now you are clear about the resultant count calculation.
