 Purpose of combing

Everybody who is a textile engineer and works in a spinning mill, they know about combing machine. Here I am going to describe the object of combing in this blog. If you are first in my blog then have a warm welcome in my blog. So let's know about objects of combing. 

1. To make a sliver of required fiber length and possibly comb out short fibers.

2. To remove or reduce short fiber, neps, and other unnecessary materials.

3. Those fibers are in by fits and stars alignment combe them to make parallel. 

4. Bring all fiber in a single fiber state. 

5. To make a uniform sliver of a certain length and relevant weight. 

6. To produce high count yarn need to make a good sliver by combing. 

7. Neat and clean surface yarn making which will have uniform count and have more strength. 

8. To produce high-quality yarn make all fibers like approximately the same staple length. 

Generally, before combing we need to produce a mini lap. Because combing machines mainly work for combing the fibers. One-third area of the combing machine has 17 line needles and the top comb has a line of needles. These needles work for combing. Combing machine comb mini lap fibers crosswise. Generally combing machine place is after the drawing machine. To make mini lap various companies use various types of machines. Machine types are generally sliver lap former, ribbon lap machine, or super lap former. 

The necessity of combing: 

1. Sinning frames need uniform roving to make high count yarn and high-quality yarn. Due to small fiber, it is not possible to make so for this by combing the machine, we reduce the short fibers as noil.  

2. Generally to produce a high count of the yarn we need to give less twist which is not possible due to short fiber. 

3. To get bright and smooth yarn needs to reduce short fiber. 

4. Small or short fibers hinder to give the strength of the yarn. So for this need to remove short fiber.

5. To make the high count of yarn need to give more draft in the ring frame. Due to short fiber, it increases fiber drop, and as well as increased wastage also has an effect on irregularity in the yarn. 

6. the 60S or more than this count if we want to make then must need combing machine.
