Classification of interlining

 Classification of interlining:

Interlining are divided into two types.

1.     Fusibible  interlining

2.     Sewn interlining

 

 1.Fusible interlining : The interlining which we need to adjust by heat and pressure is called as fusible interlining . In collar of shirt and front of the coat if we use sewn interlining then it can cause seam pucker. To avoid these types of problem we need to use fusible interlining. Fusible interlining generally produced by thermoplastic resin coating on fabric. To produce fusible interlining that fabric are use they are knitted , woven or felted and there also may have blended fabric.

Fusible interlining are divided into below class.

a)      Polyethylene coated interlining

b)      Polypropylene coated interlining

c)       Polyamide coated interlining

d)      Polyester coated interlining

e)      PVC coated interlining

f)        PVA coated interlining

 

2.Sewn Interlining : Which interlining need to sew with the main body fabric is called sewn interlining . From the beginning of modern sewn interlining are mostly used. Here some ply of the fabric are sewn repeatedly to make it fix and also used size to increase hardness. Sewn interlining has various quality. Sewn interlining quality depends on the fiber class of the fabrics, fabrics structure, thickness of the interlining and stretching. Sewn interlining making time and that interlining use to make garment is more time expensive. In some cases based on its quality and more time consuming sewn interlining have not advantage so there we use fusible interlining.

Many days before when I was six years old during my shirt making I was seen this . But It was then unknown to me . But I can know this . Then I saw that the tailor sewing the interlining with my pant and shirt . That means it was sewn interlining . 

After some days from that again I can see that a tailor is heating with calendar machine to fix the interlining in my shirt collar. That was fusible interlining .
