How to calculate fleece fabric counter
Fleece fabric has three thread bases, binding and loop yarn. This three yarn has three stitch lengths. Suppose that we will make 30 kg fleece fabric in a 30x20gg machine. They're what will be the counter .
Base Binder Loop
30 feeder 30 feeder 30 feeder
Yarn : 30/1cb cotton 30/1 CB cotton 20/1 CB cotton
Stitch length: 4.20 mm 3.60 mm 1.60 mm
Stitch length / count : 4.20/30 3.6/30 1.60/20
=0.14 = 0.12 = 0.08
Total = 0.14+0.12+0.08
=0.34
So Base yarn %: (0.14 x 100)/0.34=41%
So base yarn feeding in the machine during 30kg knitting = 30 x 41%
=12.35 kg
When we start knitting in a fleece machine then base, binding and loop feed in the machine at a time as per ratio so,
KG x 1693344 x Yarn Count
Counter =..........................................................................................................
Needle x Feeder x Stitch length
12.35 x 1693344 x 30
=......................................................
1884 x 30 x 4.20
=2642 counter
