In this blog, I will discuss various types of clothes that are used in the garments industry. One may ask this question so I am giving this blog to know easily. Garments are the most important element of life for a human being to survive, personality expression, save from the brutal environment. The garments we use must be comfortable to use which depends on the fabric quality. All fabric can never be used in all types of clothes. For example: in the summer season we use maximum cotton, viscose, and linen fabric for comfort. On the contrary, we need to use another artificial/man-made fiber for the winter season.
Gabardine: This is warp-faced fabric which is always made by 2x2 twill Due to these we can see easily the twill lines. But in low-quality gabardine need to make 2x1 twill. Here warp yarn is used double in number than weft yarn.
Denim: Denim is a very nice cotton fabric. Generally, we make 2x1 or 3x1 warp-faced twill fabric. Warp yarn can be done in various colors but weft yarn bee white. The fabric face side shows the color portion.
Jeans: This is the most popular fabric and everybody likes to use this type of fabric. Basically, this is warp-faced twill fabric. These types of fabrics are made from carded cotton yarn. here twill lines are not clear to look at. Twill lines are started from the right side and end on left. Sometimes we use S-twist and Z-twist yarn to make shadow-type stripes. We can make this fabric in solid color and also can make it printed. Sportswear, gents, workwear uniform of nurse, shirt, pant, the jacket can be made by this.
Voil fabric: This is one kind of woven fabric. This fabric design is plain weave. Voil fabric is generally produced by finer count which has more twists. This type of fabric is made of 100% cotton and worsted yarn. This fabric has 60-64 warp and weft per inch of the fabric. Normally we make it by 60 single cotton yarn.
Shirting fabric: The fabric which we use for making shirts is called shirting. There are various types of fabric for making shirts. They are Grameen check, oxford, poplin, plain or fancy weave, bleached, printed, stripe, dyed fabric.
Suiting fabric: This type of fabric is generally used for men's and women's suits, sportswear, and dress making.
Sheeting fabric: Sheeting fabrics are generally for bedsheets. This type of fabric is made by 140-300 cm in width. Here also use finer count yarn.
