Characteristics of woven fabric

 Characteristics of woven fabric:

Here in this blog, I am going to discuss the characteristics of woven fabrics:

1) Here 2 sets of yarn are used in the loom and make fabric. Due to this, the strength of the fabric becomes heavier.

2) woven fabric's extension and softness are less than knitted fabric. But dimensional stability and compactness are better than knitted fabric.

3) woven fabrics (face and back) on both sides are the same or different. For example in plain weave face and backside look the same. Other design like diamond, twill, and honeycomb looks different on the face and back.

4)Plain weave is more smooth and the flatness of the fabric is very nice. But twill honeycomb and diamond design fabrics are not smooth and surfaces are rough. For that reason, grain fabrics are dirty easily but twill and diamond fabrics were not dirty easily.

5)Woven fabric packing is done after folding and sometimes rolling but not like knitted fabric.

6)In woven fabric use sizing material but in knitted fabrics we never use sizing materials. When we give sizing materials then woven fabrics be strengthened and soft handle. Sizing also increases fabric luster.

7) woven fabrics have more hairiness but knitted fabrics have no hairiness like woven fabrics. For that reason, it is necessary to do the singeing process.

8)We produce various types of design fabric based on their uses. Designs are Plain, twill, matt, satin, sateen, diamond, honeycomb, crepe, sponge and Bedford cord, etc.

9)woven fabrics of different widths. For example Tape, lace, belt, braid, CBC, matt, and more width fabric are also produced.

10)woven fabrics we can get as normal grey fabric or printed goods.

11)Woven fabric may have cut or uncut pile on one side or both sides. For example Turquoise towel. This type of fabric is softer and water absorbency is more.

12) In woven fabric face or back or both sides may have resin treatment.

13)Woven fabrics may be double-ply, single-ply, or triple-ply.

14) woven fabrics on both sides or one side may have raising finishing.
