Temple motion is the tertiary motion of a loom. Almost all types of loom have this motion During making fabric in the loom what kind of materials are used that are considerable points of selection of temple. This is set on the fell of the cloth of a loom.
The objects of temple motion :
1. To reduce the shrinkage of the fabric through width.
2. To maintain the width of the fabric the same as the warp width of the reed.
3. To reduce the pressure on warp threads.
4. To reduce the damage of reeds.
Functions of the temple: Temple is most important due to below reason.
1. When the shuttle plays through on the race board then need to control the warp threads drag.
2. Keep fell off the clothes width the same.
3. Due to warp and weft yarn produced fabrics may be shrunk, so there needs a temple to reduce this shrunk.
4. To reduce the breakage of selvage of the fabric from the friction of reeds and selvage.
Types of the temple:
There are 6 types of temp.
1. Full-width temple
2. Nipper temple
3. Sun temple
4. Roller temple
5. Ring temple
6. Combination of different types
Nowadays ring temple is mostly used. In the second position is the roller temple. Then sun temple, full-width temple.
