 An overview of textile fiber and yarn :

In this blog today I will discuss textile fiber & its classification. I have discussed hereby short detail of fiber & its classification. 

Yarn is the main raw material for Textile fabrics. Fiber is the main raw material of yarn. There are various types of fiber. Fibers are generally classified into two classes. 

1. Natural Fiber 

2. Artificial fiber / Manmade fiber. 

1. Natural Fiber: Natural fibers are those that are produced from natural sources.  Natural Fibers are divided into  three kinds as below : 

a) Cellulose fiber 

b) Animal fiber 

c) Mineral fiber

A) Cellulose fiber: Cellulose fibers are classified into four types :

1. Seeds(cotton fiber ) 

2. Bust 

3. Leaf 

4. Fruits 

B) Animal fiber: Animal fibers are divided into two kinds :

1. Wool

2. Silk 

C) Mineral fiber: Mineral fibers are of two kinds. 

1. Glass & 

2. Asbestos. 

2. Artificial fiber / Man-made fiber:   Man-made fibers are generally made by man that we can not get in nature but we produce the fiber by using natural & chemical resources that are called as Man-made fiber. 

Man-made fibers are two kinds :

A)Regenerated fiber

B)Synthetic fiber.

A) Regenerated fiber: Regenerated fiber is of two different kinds.

1. Regenerated cellulose 

2. Regenerated protein

1. Regenerated cellulose: Regenerated cellulose is divided as below

a)Viscos rayon 

b)Acetate rayon 

c) Cupramanium rayon 

d)  Polynosic rayon 

e)Alginate fiber 

2. Regenerated proteins are divided into four kinds. 

a)Cazin 

b) Soybean

c)Groundnut 

d)Corn 

Synthetic fiber: Synthetic fibers are divided below. 

1)Polyester 

2)Polyamide 

3)Poly-acrilonytrile 

4)Poly-propylene 

5)pvc 

6)Poly-ethylene 

7)Spandex (Elastane)/ Poly-eurathane
