Thermosoling dyeing process for polyester dyeing

Thermosoling  dyeing process for polyester dyeing

The application process of disperse dye on polyester fiber with thermosole. Polyester fiber nature is thermoplastic. We know that thermoplastic fibers are soft when we heat them below the melting point and open their structure and due to their plasticize characteristics, dyes can be entered into the fiber easily. This process is called solid solution dyeing. Generally, 200-230°C from some second to 1 minute time is thermosoling temperature. In this process, 80-90% of dyes are attached to the fiber.

Recipe:

Disperse dye: 2-3% considering the fabric weight

Migration inhibitor: 10-20 parts/1000 parts

Water: To complete 1000 parts

The thermosoling dyeing process is completed in three-step.

1. Padding

2. Drying

3. Thermofixation

Below is given a description of the processes.

1. Padding: In the first stage we add dispersing agent in pad liquor with dyestuff. here is one point we should bear in mind it should not be foaming during dispersion and mixture. It should be specks-free. In a padding bath also need to add a suitable thickening agent, salt-free CMC 1-2g/m, sodium alginate, sodium polyacrylate, and super clear gum.

Then what happen lets see:

1. Pad liquor also absorbed by polyester component.

2. During dry dye migration is slowed down.

3. Even dyeing is possible.

4. If necessary can be used adhesive to control fabric and dye particle anchoring. Here is one considerable point that we should use that thickener which will not increase the viscosity of the padding liquor and can control dye migration.

Padding liquor pH should be 6.35-7. For this purpose, we can use 12.5g/l mono sodium di-hydrogen phosphate. Butanol can be used to spray dye on the fabric evenly. We also can use a wetting agent.

Drying: Padding completed fabric needs to pass through the drying chamber. Infrared radiation or hot air flow and keep chamber temperature at 135°C.

Thermofixation: After drying we need to pass the fabrics through thermosol unit at a temperature of 200-230°C and treat for 45-90 seconds and it finishes the process.
