 Pigment properties in Textile

Pigment is one important element of printing in textiles. Now I am stating its properties : 

1. Pigments are not soluble in water or any other solvent. 

2. Also not soluble in any kind of acid and base. 

3. It has not any affinity to textile fiber but with the help of binder it can be dye fabric. 

4. Its wet and light fastness is good but for deep shade rubbing fastness is not good. 

5. We can get even bright shades with pigment.

6. Pigment application process is easy and the cost is comparatively less. 

7. Pigment has only a chromophore group but has not had auxochrome. It can not make any bond with the textile fiber. 

8. It can be used in any textile fiber.

9. No need for any costly instrument. 

10. Can avoid toxicity. 

11. We can't get a certain shade by pigment. 

12. Again and again laundry can break the coating.

13. here have not been any color bleeding or staining issue.

14. If can use an effective binder during dry cleaning can be durable.
